9-9-22   THOUGHTS

As weak people, we should be encouraged by God’s power toward us!  We are not alone!

2Cor 12:9-10    And He has said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness." Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of   Christ may dwell in me.  10  Therefore I am well content with weaknesses, with insults, with distresses, with persecutions, with difficulties, for Christ’s sake; for when I am weak, then I am strong.
1Pet 5:8-10     Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.  9  But resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same experiences of suffering are being accomplished by your brethren who are in the world.  After you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself perfect, confirm, strengthen and establish you.
Eph 3:14- 21   For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, 15  from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name, 16  that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory,
to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner man, 17  so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; and that you, being rooted and grounded in love, 18  may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth,  19  and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God. 20  Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us,  21  to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen.
Just before Jesus’ announcement to Peter that he would deny him, Jesus said,
Luke 22:31-32    "Simon, Simon, behold, Satan has demanded permission to sift you like wheat; 32  but I have prayed for you, that your faith may not fail; and you, when once you have turned again,   strengthen your brothers."
Php 4:13
I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.
Col 1:11  strengthened with all power, according to His glorious might, for the attaining of all steadfastness and patience; joyously
2Cor 3:4-5   Such confidence we have through Christ toward God.  5  Not that we are adequate in ourselves to consider anything as coming from ourselves, but our adequacy is from God,
Eph 6:10   Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might.
Eph 1:18-19a    I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints,  19  and what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe.

My Prayer:
O God, thank you for your presence in our lives.  May it increase that we may know you more completely.  Increase your Spirit in us.  May we see our potential for good and pursue it with our all.  May we be sober, joyful, productive children, laboring in the Kingdom bringing children to relationship with you.   In the name of Jesus we pray,        Amen.
